Dropping your packages off
If the packages fit, you may drop them off at blue collection mailboxes and Post Office mail drop slots. Some Post Offices may also have a designated spot on the counter for prepaid packages. If you have a large number of packages, you may be asked to bring them to a rear loading dock.

USPS may not deliver your mail or packages to your door; the carrier will then place your items and any packages contained therein directly into your mailbox. If any heavier packages do not fit inside, the carrier may have to place them on the ground next to it instead.
If you put a small package in your mailbox with the outgoing mail flag up, the package properly addressed, and with proper postage (and assuming there is nothing that would require counter service), then the package will be picked up if it meets the size requirements.

Can I leave a package outside for UPS pickup?
Shipments that do not require a signature can be left in a safe place, out of sight and out of weather, at the driver's discretion.
