Does fax send If no answer?
Fax machines will automatically retry calls in case the receiving end fails to answer. It is easy to adjust the number of times the machine redials by just checking your machine.
Usually the fax will be sent within a few minutes (approx. 60 seconds per page), but can take longer if the receiver's fax line is busy or if the line gets disconnected.

A reorder tone, sometimes called a fast busy signal, indicates that no transmission path to the called number is available.
If your fax takes a very long time to send, it's likely that your fax contains a lot of pages. A page takes about 2 minutes to send, and that's if the fax machine of your recipient responds immediately.
The typical turn around for a fax filing submitted during business hours is the same business day. Filings submitted on weekends or after hours will not be processed until the next business day.

Faxes are HIPAA compliant

Fax is more secure than email, in many regards. The main thing that can make fax more secure than email is the limited exposure to the internet and internet connected devices. Fax machines communicate through phone lines, which are harder to access than public internet connections.
"No Response/Busy" indicates that the number you attempted to send a fax to was busy or didn't respond to the incoming fax. The problem may be related to your line connection. - Make sure the telephone cord is connected from your wall telephone jack to your Brother machine's LINE jack.
Do You Put a 1 Before a Fax Number? Faxes use the same network as voice calls. That means you may not need to add a 1 before the fax number when sending a fax to a recipient within your area code. However, if you send a fax long distance, you'll likely need to add the 1 before the area code prefix.
How long does a 50 page fax take?
An average fax page is about 100K. Say you expand this to be a 5-megabyte file, an often recommended limit, so that's 50 pages. It will likely take you about 50 minutes to an hour to send the entire document on a newer model. That's assuming the pages are text.
