What GSM is good quality card?
Usually, 350 gsm card stock is considered the best paper weight for printing greeting cards.
200 gsm is quite a thick stock. Home printers won't be able to handle this weight of stock. Typically 200 gsm paper is used for things like posters, high quality leaflets, menus etc.
This kraft paper / card looks great with a simple, monochrome themed design. The natural colour will compliment any design. Can be used in both inkjet and laser printers.
In the standard measures, 30 to 150 GSM is lightweight. A measure of 150 to 350 GSM is medium weight and more than 350 GSM is heavyweight.
What does 'Mic' mean? 'Mic' is an abbreviation for 'Microns' which is a unit of measure used for gauging paper thickness. One micron = 1000th of a millimetre, therefore 250mic = 0.25mm and 1000mic = 1mm.

Cardstock paper typically ranges from about 147 GSM (grams per square meter) to 640 GSM, which generally translates to 67lb bristol to 236lb cover. Thinner cardstocks are typically used for: self-mailers. postcards.

The standard and best weight cardstock for card making is 80lb. It is recommended to use cardstock paper that weighs somewhere between 80lb to 110lb especially for stamping, die-cutting, and other mixed media techniques.

Understand Business Card Thickness
The 14 pt or . 014 inches card has a thickness of a brochure, postcard, or flyer and is typically used for mass circulation. On the other hand, the 16 pt or . 016 inches stock is the standard business card thickness and is commonly used to hand it out in meetings and conferences.
170-220gsm - as above, this weight of card is ideal for layering and matting, die-cutting and printing. You may find they work well on single layer cards, however if you add layers and embellishments this cardstock weight may buckle and not look great when displayed.

Will 200 GSM go through a printer?
Each sheet has a paper weight of 200 gsm, making it thick, sturdy and ideal for use printing booklets, flyers and brochures. Each sheet is A4 size so you can easily use it in your laser printer or copier.
