Can Cricut cut 130 lb cardstock?
Make sure you are using the double-cut or multi-cut 2x (Cricut Maker) setting for ALL papers greater than 80 lb. For intricate cuts, the Intricate Cut setting is recommended by Cricut. These settings will cut each line twice. We do not recommend cutting papers greater than 80 lb.

The first thing you need to know is that there are two cardstock weights: 65-pound and 110-pound. You can use either one with your Cricut machine, but keep in mind that the thicker cardstocks will require more cutting pressure.
Light Cardstock: Use for paper rated at 60 – 65 lb. weights, a little heavier than text-weight papers often found in patterned, printed or decorative papers. Cardstock: Use for paper rated at 80 – 90 lb.
If you're having trouble cutting all the way through your cardstock, you may need to choose different materials settings. The first thing to try is to increase the cut pressure. For example, you may need to switch from Light Cardstock to Medium Cardstock. Or, you can select the More Pressure option on the Make Screen.

For nearly all paper projects, you're going to be using the Fine Point Blade. There may be a handful of very thick cardstocks that require the Deep Cut Blade, but your Cricut should prompt you to use the Deep Cut Blade if needed.

What is the difference between 65 lb and 110 lb cardstock?
110 lb cardstock is almost twice the weight of 65 lb cardstock, with 130 lb cardstock being the heaviest (as far as I know) so if you want the heavier of the two, go for the 110 lb cardstock instead of the 65 lb cardstock.

140 lb (300 gsm) paper is a medium thickness paper that accepts water soluble media very well, but if your style of painting involves a lot of wet-on-wet techniques, or you paint large washes, you might need to stretch this type of paper beforehand.
Paper weight, also known as BASIS WEIGHT is measured in pounds per 500 sheets within it's category. If 500 sheets of a standard sheet in a category weights 100 lbs., then the paper weight / basis weight of that type of paper will be 100 lb.
That said, heavy papers typically start at 80 lbs and up, and bond paper, for example, can be as light as 20 lbs or as heavy as 72 lbs. Generally, for invitation cardstock, you don't want to go any lighter than 53 lbs, but thicker cardstock will look and feel more formal and elegant.
